# Career Opportunity: Join the Wildlife Ecotourism Project with Indonesia’s Ministry of Forestry
The Ministry of Forestry, through the Directorate General of Natural Resources and Ecosystem Conservation (KSDAE), is officially launching a recruitment drive for the Project Management Unit (PMU) and Project Implementation Units (PIU). This initiative is a core component of the "Enhancing Co-Benefits of Conservation Area Management through an Inclusive Wildlife-based Ecotourism Strategy" (WILDLIFE ECOTOURISM) project, supported by the Global Biodiversity Framework Fund (GBFF).
The project’s primary mission is to bolster biodiversity conservation and ecological resilience within Indonesia’s protected areas. By fostering wildlife-based tourism that prioritizes inclusive community participation and long-term economic stability, the initiative aims to transform how conservation areas serve both nature and the public.
## Open Positions and Locations
The ministry is seeking dedicated professionals to fill roles at both the national and regional levels.
1. Project Management Unit (PMU) – Bogor Based
The PMU will be responsible for overseeing the project at the national level. The following roles are currently open:
* National Project Manager
* Finance Associate
* Administrative Assistant
* Communication and Knowledge Management (KM) Officer
* Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting Officer
* Policy, Wildlife-based Ecotourism, and Capacity Building Specialist
* Safeguards and Gender Mainstreaming Specialist
2. Project Implementation Unit (PIU) – Site-Specific
PIU personnel will operate directly within five key National Parks:
* Tanjung Puting National Park
* Way Kambas National Park
* Baluran National Park
* Alas Purwo National Park
* Wakatobi National Park
* Regional Coordinators / Community Engagement and Capacity Building Officers
* Regional Finance and Administrative Officers
## Application Requirements

## Qualifications for National Project Manager
To lead this high-impact initiative, the National Project Manager must demonstrate significant expertise. Key qualifications include:
* Education: A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Forestry, Natural Resource Management, Ecotourism, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
* Professional Experience: At least 10 years of experience in forestry, natural resource conservation, or wildlife tourism management.
* Core Competencies: Proficiency in project management cycles, financial oversight, development of logical frameworks, and cross-ministerial coordination.
* Communication: Exceptional English proficiency and the ability to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders, including government bodies, private sectors, and local communities.
* Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of sustainable tourism, visitor management, animal welfare, and biodiversity conservation policies.
